AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - The Working Ranch Cowboys Association (WRCA) will kick off the 30th World Championship Rodeo and other events starting Thursday.

The first performance of the 30th World Championship Ranch Rodeo starts at 7 p.m. in the Arena at the Civic Center.

Randy Whipple, WRCA board of directors member, says the WRCA is important to Amarillo.

“It’s all about family, number two we bring in over $6 million of direct spending to Amarillo every year that we have this. We have over 45,000 people that will come through this Civic Center over the course of the next four days,” said Whipple.

Tucker Brown, who is competing at this years WRCA, says this rodeo is different from other championships.
