NEWARK, NJ - The Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC New Jersey), a nonprofit organization based in Newark, announced they have awarded $40,000 in new grants to four community-based organizations that are improving the health and well-being of residents in Newark’s Fairmount Heights, Upper Clinton Hill, and Lower Broadway neighborhoods.
The four grantees—Urban League of Essex County, Clinton Hill Community Action, BRICK Education Network, and La Casa de Don Pedro are advancing initiatives that reflect the priorities of their neighborhoods.
LISC says the Urban League of Essex County will support a resident-driven mural project within Fairmount Heights Children’s Park. Clinton Hill Community Action will support the efforts of resident leaders guiding the development of a community
