JEROME, Mich. (WILX) - Opening day of Michigan’s firearm deer hunting season brought hundreds of hunters to Jerome Country Market, home to the state’s largest buck pole.
Hunters gathered at the market to display and celebrate the deer harvested during the first day of the season. Among them was Cody Robidoux, who bagged what he believes is the biggest buck of his hunting career.
“This is my 20th opening day with a gun, and this is only my second deer ever on opening day,” Robidoux said.
Robidoux woke up just after five in the morning on Saturday and saw a picture of a deer in the same location he planned to hunt at. So, he packed up his gear and made it to the location an hour later.
