In 2024, Fairbanks North Star Borough residents spread local joy and showed that charitable contributions aren’t just found under a Christmas tree.
They can also be selected from the vending machine.
Starting on Wednesday, Nov. 19, people can “vend joy” once again as Light the World Giving Machine returns to Santa Claus House in North Pole, said Jeff Jacobson.
The Giving Machine is a unique vending machine that lets you purchase items and donate them to nonprofits.
“Light the World is an invitation to transform the Christmas season into a season of service,” Jacobson said. “It’s a worldwide movement to touch hearts and change lives by doing the things Jesus did, such as feeding the hungry, comforting the lonely, visiting the sick and afflicted, and showing kindness to everyone.”
