KINGSTON, N.Y. — Gov. Kathy Hochul’s administration approval of two projects — including an underwater gas pipeline — undermines the state’s climate change goals and will force ratepayers to pay more, according to Assemblymember Sarahana Shrestha.
Shrestha, D-Esopus, who represents the 103rd Assembly District, issued a statement this week on state approvals for the Northeast Supply Enhancement Project and plans for a cryptocurrency mining facility.
“Last week, Governor Hochul allowed New York State to approve two previously rejected projects that will increase the cost for ratepayers and undermine the state’s climate goals: a Trump-backed gas pipeline and a cryptocurrency mining facility,” Shrestha said Thursday in a statement.
