CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - A 9-year-old boy accused of attempted murder and rape made his first court appearance on Thursay in Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court.
The boy is charged along with a 10-year-old girl in an attack on a 5-year-old victim. The boy was supposed to appear in court last week but didn’t show up, prompting Judge Kristin Sweeney to threaten a warrant if he didn’t come on Thursday.
The boy appeared wearing a face mask, dressed in a green hoodie and black pants, staying quiet as the prosecutor outlined the charges.
“This case results in a 5-year-old being left naked, beaten, and urinated upon in a field and left for hours. At a very minimum, the state is requesting home detention with an ankle monitor,” the prosecutor said.
