Pima Elementary or Echo Canyon K-8 schools are successful, serve their students well and should not be closed down.
That was the message sent to the Scottsdale Unified School District Governing Board members by a group of about 100 parents and students during a public hearing on closing the two schools.
The meeting was only to give members of the community the opportunity to express their thoughts and the board members did not respond other than to thank people for coming out and expressing their views.
The board will make it’s ultimate decision on district superintendent Dr. Scott Menzel’s recommendation to repurpose the schools during it’s Dec. 9 meeting.
