OVERTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WSMV) - Police are investigating hazing allegations that have shut down the Livingston Academy boys basketball team. Authorities are working to determine if the incident crossed the line to sexual assault or other serious criminal violations.
The Overton County Schools suspended the basketball team last Friday after receiving reports about hazing that occurred in the boys locker room. Police Chief Ray Smith said the investigation could take several more weeks as detectives interview witnesses and gather facts.
