WEST DEPTFORD, N.J. (WPVI) -- Police in Gloucester County pursued a stolen car for miles early Friday morning before it got away.
Police say a BMW X3 that was stolen from a West Deptford home Tuesday morning showed up on a license plate reader as the vehicle entered Washington Township.
"Officers acted swiftly, decisively. They started to pursue the vehicle," said Washington Twp. Police Chief Patrick Gurcsik.
Police say when an officer tried to pull the vehicle over, it fled onto Rt. 42 southbound. The vehicle then looped around northbound on 42, then got onto the Atlantic City Expressway southbound.
After several miles, police say it crossed the median and headed towards Camden.
The chase ended on Carl Miller Blvd. in Camden after the BMW almost hit another car head-on.
