BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) - An inmate at the Brazos County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center attempted to escape on Friday morning.
According to the Brazos County Sheriff’s Office, an inmate in a recreation area within the secured perimeter got access to the roof of the building.
Staff responded quickly and took the inmate into custody on the roof without incident. Officials said the inmate never left the property. An investigation is now underway, and the inmate has been charged for attempting to escape. The Brazos County Sheriff’s Office stated it’s conducting a review of procedures surrounding the incident.
