BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) - A Hearne man will now spend his life behind bars after pleading guilty to murdering his wife.

In June of 2023 , officers with the College Station Police Department responded to a 911 call on Renne Lane. The caller said their father had killed her stepmother. When officers and EMS arrived, they found Sherry Shugart Jutson dead in the main bedroom. Officials found two children in the home who had not seen or heard anything related to the murder.

The 911 caller said her father, Brian Jutson Sr., was on his way to her home in Bryan. College Station Police, Bryan Police and the Texas Department of Public Safety responded to the home in Bryan and arrested Jutson Sr. without issue.

In interviews with detectives after his arrest, Jutson Sr. admitted to driving seven hours
