NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Volunteers are coming together to help people without a home in Nashville.
Volunteers of America Mid-States gave out care packages to people across downtown on Friday. It’s part of their Hope for the Homeless campaign.
The organization gave away items to help them stay warm and safe until they can find shelter.
“Because people who are in need, they have pride of course and sometimes they don’t want to ask for things. So, we have to meet them where they are and if we meet them where they are. They are more apt to come to us,” said Jackie Pair with Volunteers of America Action Council.
Volunteers of America Mid-States said you can donate to their cause at any time, and not just during the holidays because the need is always there.
