The Lincoln Township Board of Trustees has taken action to conduct a study on the feasibility of building a trail along Hickory Creek from the village of Stevensville to St. Joseph.
The idea of such a trail has been kicked around for years and would require the cooperation of multiple municipalities and residents. At a meeting this week, Lincoln Township Supervisor Glenn Youngstedt told trustees the idea now is to have Abonmarche do a comprehensive deep dive into the idea, planning out the route and meeting with property owners who might be affected.
Some members of the board objected, telling Youngstedt people will not want a trail running through their backyards.
