New Hampshire officials said a man was shot by police Friday evening in Charlestown.

The shooting happened near the intersection of Caryl Lane and Claremont Road, according to the office of New Hampshire Attorney General John Formella.

Authorities said the man was injured, but they did not describe the severity or say if he was hospitalized.

The Attorney General's Office and New Hampshire State Police are investigating.
