LAFAYETTE — Riverdale Ridge quarterback Ricky Weeks laid motionless on the turf at Spangenberg Field after taking a big hit on Friday night in the Ravens’ 4A second round game against Monarch at Spangenberg Field.

Weeks didn’t see a Coyotes player while the pocket and went hard to the ground late in the fourth quarter. He appeared knocked out for several minutes before he was helped to his feet and ushered to the sideline.

After the game, he was strapped to a board and taken away by an ambulance with an apparent head injury.

Riverdale Ridge and Monarch players met at midfield after the game to say a prayer.
