CLEVELAND — Two international students engaged to be married were killed in a crash in Cleveland on Tuesday, leaving grieving classmates, relatives, and friends searching for answers.
Twenty-eight-year-old Samira Xhaferi and her 30-year-old fiancé Albi Çela both came to Cleveland from Albania to study at Cleveland State University. Xhaferi was pursuing her PhD, while Çela was completing his law degree.
"They were both just really, really smart, passionate, talented people who really cared about the world," said Samia Mansour, a cousin by marriage who spoke with 3News.
Mansour says the couple was likely on their normal morning routine at the time of the crash.
"My guess, based on the time of day and where they were driving, is that they were probably driving to work and school," she s
