Jim Simpson, the original manager of Black Sabbath, has hit back at what he describes as "inaccurate and unfair criticisms" levelled by Sharon Osbourne, wife of the legendary Ozzy Osbourne.
On the most recent instalment of The Osbournes podcast, Sharon voiced her fury regarding Simpson's intentions to release a rare collection of recordings from the era before Black Sabbath, featuring Ozzy, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward.
Simpson, now in his late 80s, funded the studio sessions back in 1969 when Ozzy and his bandmates performed under the name Earth. He has since restored and remastered the material, intending to issue it as Earth: The Legendary Lost Tapes, though release has been postponed following Sharon's legal threats.
