An Edinburgh e-bike rider is currently in hospital with "serious injuries" after a crash on Friday evening.

Around 8.15pm on November 14, police were called to a report of a crash on Clermiston Road involving a white Mercedes Vito van and a black Sur-Ron electric motorcycle.

Around half a dozen officers were at the scene and the road was taped off for a number of hours before re-opening at 11.45pm.

The rider of the motorcycle, a 28-year-old man, was taken to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary. Police have said inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.

One passer-by claims debris from the bike was strewn across the road and the white van appeared to be damaged.

The bike was reportedly lying in the middle of the junction.
