Police locked down a busy road in Edinburgh following an incident involving a 'van and bike' last night. ‌

Emergency services were called to Clermiston Road, between Rannoch Road and Drum Brae Drive, after the alarm was raised at around 9pm on Friday, November 14. ‌

Although the exact nature of the incident is unclear at this time, one passer-by told Edinburgh Live that debris from the bike was strewn across the road and a white van appeared to be damaged. ‌

It's understood the bike was seen lying in the middle of the junction as a result.

Police attended and a number of cordons were put in place.

Around half a dozen officers were at the scene for a number of hours carrying out investigations. ‌
