Dr. Larue Fitch, an elementary school principal in West Chicago, has finished 14 marathons in just six years, most recently competing in the New York City Marathon on Nov. 2.
The 43-year-old initially started running to improve his mental health and implement a healthy habit that would get him up and running every day. At first, it was a personal endeavour — until his son, Josiah, was diagnosed with cerebral palsy in 2021.
