LEESBURG, Va. — A firefighter and a civilian were hurt in a Leesburg house fire as crews worked to put out flames and contain smoke on Saturday.

Both injuries were described as "minor" by Loudoun County Fire and Rescue. The firefighter was taken to the hospital while the civilian was evaluated on scene.

The fire, described as "heavy," was reported at around 11:10 a.m. in the 19000 block of Kipheart Drive in Leesburg. The effort to put out the fire was characterized as a "defensive attack" by LCFR on their social media accounts.
