Tom Brady’s new CardVault store in New York City was robbed of nearly $10,000 worth of merchandise on Monday, October 20.
According to a New York City Police Department report on Wednesday, November 12, the suspect allegedly entered the store on Lafayette Street in New York and attempted to purchase $9,710 worth of collectible baseball and Pokémon cards when his credit card declined.
According to the NYPD news release, the suspect, who remains unidentified, “began to enter manual prompts into the contact payment terminal without the employee’s knowledge to bypass the transaction being declined.”
He then left the store with the merchandise and traveled south on Lafayette Street. No injuries were reported in the robbery, which authorities say occurred just before noon.
