Police on Friday arrested a suspect in a deadly shooting at Greenbriar Mall, which occurred on Thursday, Atlanta Police said.

Caleb Deangelo Kirksey, 29, is charged with murder and aggravated assault, along with weapons charges, according to an arrest warrant issued on Friday.

The shooting resulted from an argument between Kirksey and the victim, identified as Deonte O'Connor.

Officers said they were called to 2841 Greenbriar Parkway, the address of Greenbriar Mall, to respond to the scene. APD Lt. Christapher Butler said one person was detained by an off-duty officer who was at the mall.

The shooting happened outside of the mall on the sidewalk near the food court, Butler said. 11Alive crews spotted police tape blocking off a portion of the parking lot.
