Amarillo Fire Department responds to building fire near S Johnson Street

AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - The Amarillo Fire Department responded to a building fire Saturday morning near S Johnson Street and SE 17th Avenue.

Officials say they arrived on the scene just before noon on Saturday and found heavy smoke throughout the building.

AFD was able to enter the building and extinguish the fire.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time, and the Amarillo Fire Department says this is still an active scene.
