A two-year-old boy died Saturday morning in Essex County after reportedly falling from a 20th floor window, according to the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office.
Newark police officers were called to 455 Elizabeth Avenue in Newark around 7 a.m. after receiving a report that a child had fallen from the window, the prosecutor’s office said.
The boy, who was not identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The address belongs to the Elizabeth Towers in Newark, a residential apartment complex.
The incident remained under investigation as of noon Saturday, said Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens II and Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda.
