W ASHINGTON — Jack Hughes probably won’t return to the Devils lineup until 2026. This is a crushing blow to a team that’s A) already injury-riddled and B) has crumbled whenever Hughes hasn’t played in year’s past.

On Saturday, the team revealed that Hughes had surgery and could miss eight weeks after cutting his hand at a team dinner Thursday night.
