RICHMOND, Texas — Former player Patrick Beverley was arrested in Fort Bend County on a felony assault charge.
Officials with the Fort Bend County District Attorney’s Office confirm that Beverley was arrested on Friday on a charge of family violence assault – impeding breath/circulation.
His attorney sent a statement Friday night, saying Beverley found his minor sister alone with an 18-year-old man.
The full statement reads:
Beverley appeared to respond to the allegations on social media, writing "Please don’t believe everything you see on the internet. Hope all is well Luv❤️🙏🏾" .
Police have not shared details from the investigation.
Bond in Beverley's case was set at $40,000.
