ELKHART, Ind. (WNDU) - An ugly sweater draft softball tournament was held on Saturday at the Riverview Softball Complex in Elkhart to benefit Toys for Tots.

Participants wore Christmas sweaters while playing softball to raise money for toys for children in need during the holidays.

“From a personal standpoint, I’ve been there before and I struggled. Luckily, I had family members that stepped in and helped me out. People don’t always have that source, you know to help out, so that’s what the Marines, Toys for Tots program is supposed to do,” said Mike Curry, coordinator for the Toys for Tots fundraiser.

Toys for Tots has been delivering joy to children during the holidays since 1947, distributing over 700 million toys.
