JACKSON, Mich. (WILX) -On Saturday, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office held its third annual Stuff a Cop Car food drive.
The event allows people to donate non-perishable food items for people in need. All donated items are placed in the back of a police car and later divided evenly among six families that need food assistance.
Detective Bre Tucker said the department receives many requests for help during the holiday season.
“We just get so many families that reach out during the holiday season needing help, and so we started this event to kind of help the families out in need,” Tucker said. “And then we get local businesses as well talking about not being able to keep their food pantry stocked. So between the families that we try and contribute to in the food pantries just to help out
