A Baton Rouge man was beaten and then fatally shot Friday afternoon on Lorraine Street, according to police.

Darrell McBride, 37, was found beaten and shot around 5:15 p.m. in the 2700 block of Lorraine Street, according to a Baton Rouge Police Department news release.

McBride was transported to a hospital where he died from his gunshot injury, police said.
