New Mexico United (14-10-6) fell short in the Western Conference Finals against FC Tulsa (16-5-9) 3-0 in Tulsa, Oklahoma Saturday.
New Mexico United came into Saturday night as the third seed in the Western Conference, hoping to upset the number one seed in the conference.
FC Tulsa scored early and opened up the floodgates, starting with striker Taylor Calheira in the 38th minute. Calheira would score again in the second half in the 57th minute, followed by Midfielder Jaimie Webber in the 76th minute.
Despite New Mexico United winning the possession battle 66.7% to 33.3%, according to ESPN, United would have no shots on goal after nine shot attempts.
