ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - The St. Louis chapter of the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) honored several local journalists who have dedicated their careers to covering stories in the bi-state area, naming them Living Legends.

During the ceremony Saturday evening, four Living Legends were added to the list.

“We felt, you know, we needed to give people their flowers while they were here. And that is kind of how it started out and it bloomed from there,” said Sharon Stevens, the first Living Legend honoree.

The money raised at the event goes towards supporting the next generation of journalists in the region as they start their professional careers.
