ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. (First Alert 4) - On Saturday, 22 children were adopted in St. Louis County as part of a national event to raise awareness for the more than 100,000 children in foster care in the United States.
It’s a national event that happens yearly on or around the Saturday before Thanksgiving.
This year, St. Louis County Family Court opened its doors starting at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 15, 2025. In the past, approximately 40 children would be adopted on this single day from foster care in St Louis County.
Each child who is adopted on this day is given a gift bag of items donated for this event.
Michelle and Josh Blake, one of the couples who adopted a child on Saturday, say it was an exciting day for them, as they officially adopted 11-year-old Emma as their daughter.
