WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - Lakepoint Retirement Community held its third annual art show over the weekend, showcasing works created by its residents.
Some residents said painting is a good way to spend their time, while others say painting is therapeutic.
“Well, I enjoy it,” Lora Lee Hyder, a Lakepoint resident said. “It’s peaceful.”
“I get busy doing something I love to do, my mind is on that instead of all my aches and pains,” Sue Brown, another Lakepoint resident said. “If I didn’t have anything else to do, that’s what I’d sit in my room and do, and I don’t want to be like that.”
“It’s very stressful doing it, but then it’s relief, and a feeling of accomplishment once you get it done,” Lisa Pratt, another resident, said.
