CANYON, Texas (KFDA) - The West Texas A&M Buffs finished out the regular season strong, coming from behind to take down rival Angelo State Saturday night, 45-44.

After being down 10 at the half, the Buffs came out and played one of the best halves of football all season.

It came down to the wire. Zach Phipps had the game winning touchdown with only seconds left on the clock to get the final win of the regular season in front of the home crowd.

Quarterback RJ Martinez continued to prove why he’s one of the best in Division II. He came into Saturday’s game as the leader in Division II for total offense, and added another 415 passing yards and 58 rushing yards to that. This was his third-straight 400+ yard game as well as his third consecutive game throwing five touchdowns.
