BEAUMONT, Texas — Mary Genevive Bond is back in the Jefferson County Jail after a judge revoked her probation in connection with a 2022 theft and fraud case.
Judge John Stevens confirmed Friday that Bond was taken into custody after prosecutors filed a motion to revoke her probation. The motion was granted in court earlier in the day.
Bond was originally placed on probation for an offense that occurred on May 24, 2022. According to a probable cause affidavit filed that year, Bond was employed by the campaign of Christian “Manuel” Hayes for District 22 until Jan. 31, 2022.
Detective Amber McMichael of the Beaumont Police Department wrote in the affidavit that during April and May of 2022, Bond used the routing and account numbers belonging to Hayes’ political campaign account to transfer
