CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A Corpus Christi man accused of threatening University of Louisville football coach Jeff Brohm and members of his family was arraigned Wednesday in Louisville, according to court documents and statements provided to 3NEWS.
A Jefferson County grand jury indicted 38-year-old Brian S. Mandel on Monday on six counts of second-degree terroristic threatening and one count of criminal attempt theft by extortion over $10,000. According to the indictments, the threats were made on Nov. 8 and Nov. 9 and were directed at Brohm, his wife, Jennifer, their son, Brady, and a juvenile identified by initials. The documents also allege Mandel attempted to obtain more than $10,000 “by threatening to inflict bodily injury.”
