On Sunday at 3:40 a.m. the National Weather Service released a winter storm warning valid from 10 a.m. until Monday 7 p.m. for St. Lawrence, Franklin and Clinton counties.

The weather service states to be ready for, "Total snow accumulations between 10 and 16 inches on northwesterly and westerly slopes. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph."

"Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. The strong winds and weight of snow on tree limbs may down power lines and could cause sporadic power outages. Travel could be very difficult to impossible. Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday morning and evening commutes," states the weather service. "If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight,
