I went back and researched the previous three mayoral elections, and Jacki Marsh won with a percentage of the votes ranging from 45%-50.6%. These were all re-election bids after she had already been serving, so I’d say they were not overly strong endorsements for her past performances. I’m looking forward to new blood.
Editor’s note: In two of those three elections Marsh faced two candidates. According to the Larimer County website, when she got 51% of the vote in 2023, the next highest vote-getter got just 32%. The 2019 election against two other candidates was a bit closer, at 45% to 38% for the second highest vote-getter.
