Letter from the Editor: Accountability journalism doesn’t end when the story publishes

Ireceived a wonderful email from a reader last week letting me know he was “sitting here reading Carlos Fuentes’ piece on lawmakers hiring family members. Steam coming from my ears!”

I must say, that’s exactly the response we hope for when our journalists find a good accountability story and spend weeks reporting, requesting documents, writing, fact-checking and then editing draft after draft.
