MECHANICSBURG – A dominant second set pulled the Lansdale Catholic girls volleyball team even with Avonworth in Saturday afternoon’s PIAA Class 2A championship match.
The momentum, however, did not carry over for the Crusaders. A 10-0 run by the District 7 champ Antelopes allowed them to take control in the third and race away in the set to regain control of the contest.
“They came out and they did the same thing we did and we just weren’t able to recover,” LC senior defensive specialist Marissa Passerini said. “We’re usually pretty solid on coming back from runs like that but I think we just got in our heads today and we were too stressed.”
