New York Jets cornerback Kris Boyd was seriously wounded in a Midtown shooting early Sunday and remained at Bellevue Hospital in grave condition later in the day, according to the New York Post.

The shooting happened shortly after 2 a.m. on West 38th Street near Seventh Avenue, police said. Authorities did not publicly identify the victim, but sources told The Post it was the 29-year-old defensive back. The Jets later confirmed Boyd was the person injured.

“We are aware of the situation involving Kris Boyd and will have no further comment at this time,” a team spokesperson said.

Law enforcement sources said Boyd was shot in the abdomen outside Sei Less restaurant after a dispute escalated and a gunman fired two rounds.
