BISMARCK, N.D. (KFYR) - No. 1 North Dakota State handily defeated Northern Iowa 48-16 to move to 11-0 on the season.
The Bison stampeded all over UNI to the tune of over 400 yards of offense and four rushing touchdowns.
For the first time since Oct. 11 against Southern Illinois, Cole Payton did not throw an interception. The NDSU signal caller completed 15 passes on 17 attempts and also threw for a touchdown and ran for two more. Meanwhile, Barika Kpeenu also found the end zone twice on the ground.
The Bison defense scraped together two takeaways, both interceptions at the expense of Northern Iowa quarterback Jaxon Dailey.
NDSU is now 11-0 entering the final week of the regular season. The Bison’s final game is at home against St. Thomas.
