Tributes have been paid to a "beautiful" young Scottish woman who died in a car crash in the Republic of Ireland on Saturday morning.

Chloe Hipson, 21, was killed along with four others in the incident on Ardee Road on the L3168, in the townland of Gibstown in Dundalk, County Louth.

The alarm was raised at 9am on November 15, with a major incident response initiated.

Another young woman and three young men were also killed in the two-car smash. All five were passengers in a Volkswagen Golf.

As reported by the Daily Record , tributes have since poured in for Chloe, who was from Bellshill, North Lanarkshire. North Motherwell FC said they would be holding a one minute silence in memory of Chloe, who is the younger sister of their veteran player Ryan Hipson.
