Madhuradhwani is presenting a Hindustani vocal concert on Nov.18, 6.15 p.m. onwards at Arkay Centre, Luz and it is open to all rasikas.
The concert in a commemoration of the birth centenary celebration of Annapurna Devi – she was an Indian surbahar player of Hindustani classical music . She was the daughter and disciple of Allauddin Khan and the sister of Ustad Ali Akbar Khan . She kept a low-proifle, not keen to present concerts and went on be a great teacher, with students like fluatist Haripasad Chaurasia.
The concert features the well-known vidhusi and vocalist Indrani Mukherjee (khayal, thumri and bhajans) with Apurba Mukherjee on tabla and Dr. Ravindra Gururaj Katoti on harmonium. Tags: Hindustani vocal concert , arkay centre
