Plans have been approved for a new "bespoke" restaurant development featuring a "speakeasy-style" cocktail lounge and a bar games area. Proposals had been submitted to Hartlepool Development Corporation to transform 14-18 Scarborough Street, which was last used as offices for an accountancy firm.
The application from Simon Smith sought to convert the ground floor into a "bespoke bar and restaurant" providing "a high-quality hospitality venue that contributes positively" to the area. The proposals will also provide a "a speakeasy-style cocktail bar", private karaoke rooms, flexible events space and "gaming and leisure facilities" including snooker tables, shuffleboard lanes and electronic dartboards.
