A nine-month-old baby boy who was mauled to death by an XL bully dog was staying at his dad's house, an inquest has heard. Jonte William Bluck was bitten in the head by a family pet in a tragic incident in south Wales on November 2.

Area coroner Rose Farmer said the infant's provisional cause of death was given as a compressive head injury, consistent with a dog bite . An inquest into his death was opened and adjourned at Gwent Coroner's Court this morning (November 17).

Gwent Police continue to investigate and as such the inquest was adjourned until August next year. A man and a woman were arrested after the fatal incident at an address on Crossway in Rogiet, Caldicot, Monmou
