NEW YORK — The New York Police Department is seeking the public's help to identify the man accused of shooting and injuring Gilmer native and New York Jets cornerback Kris Boyd.

According to the police department, this unidentified man fired a gun and shot Boyd around 2 a.m. in front of 156 West 38 Street, in the confines of the Midtown South Precinct. Boyd was shot in the abdomen.

Police said the man fled from the location on foot and went eastbound on West 38 Street to parts unknown.

He is of medium complexion and was last seen wearing a black cap, black sweatshirt, black pants, multi-colored sneakers, and carrying a black bookbag.
