WA will miss out on Alex de Minaur for a second straight summer, with the star Aussie drawn to play in Sydney rather than Perth for the United Cup.
But WA tennis great Casey Dellacqua does not think the absence of the Australians will impact interest after Perth landed a star-studded draw for the group stages of the tournament.
RAC Arena will host Coco Gauff and Taylor Fritz as a star-studded US duo, as well as the likes of Naomi Osaka and Jack Draper
De Minaur and Maya Joint will represent Australia in Sydney in Group D for the tournament, which begins in Perth on January 2.
Perth will host Groups A, C and E, with five top-11 players spread across the nine teams set to call WA home.
Gauff, Fritz and Osaka headline Perth’s array of stars, while British men’s world no.10 Draper, Italia
