A tractor trailer fire on I-75 Sunday morning ended up spreading to an embankment, slowing traffic to a glacial pace.

County officials said at around 6:30am, firefighters found the burning semi between the Ringgold and Tunnel Hill exits on the northbound side.

Officials said the flames were spreading to the embankment from the trailer, which was loaded with furniture and other belongings of people who were moving.

Crews from four fire stations responded to the blaze.

Photos of the scene show the semi was destroyed, heavy damage to the trailer, and a scorched embankment.

No one was hurt.

The cause of the fire has not been released.
